Dr. Kari Hawkey is a dedicated and passionate educator and advocate with a wealth of knowledge working at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. With over 20 years of experience in public education, Dr. Hawkey has developed a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges that students face. Her commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment has shaped her philosophy and approach. Dr. Hawkey has actively engaged in various extracurricular activities and leadership roles. She has served as the Intermediate Director for the Corona-Norco Teachers Association’s Executive Board, where she advocated for teachers’ rights and worked towards promoting educational excellence. Dr. Hawkey is also a published poet and editor for a well-known literary journal.
As a person, Dr. Hawkey is known for her strong work ethic, attention to detail, and organizational skills. She has actively participated in district committees such as LCAP, DELAC, Safety, Discipline Guidelines, and Dress Code, showcasing her comprehensive understanding of district policies and procedures. Her leadership roles as SST Coordinator, English Learner Program Coordinator, and MTSS Tier 1 Lead have further strengthened her ability to lead and support diverse student populations effectively.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Hawkey enjoys engaging in extracurricular activities that enrich her personal and professional growth. She actively participates in professional development opportunities, attends conferences and workshops, and stays updated with the latest research and best practices in education. Overall, Dr. Hawkey’s passion for education, extensive experience, leadership roles, and dedication to continuous learning are evident in her commitment to providing the best possible educational experiences for all students.
