Jacqueline Joerres is a distinguished Occupational Therapist, celebrated for her vast expertise spanning over two decades. Born and raised in the picturesque state of Colorado, her diverse upbringing was marked by a pivotal moment during her high school years. A close friend suffered a traumatic brain injury, igniting Jacqueline’s passion for assisting individuals with disabilities.
Her early college years were marked by an unwavering commitment to the community. She not only provided respite care to families in need but also spearheaded fundraising efforts for a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families with children facing disabilities.
Jacqueline’s pursuit of excellence led her to the esteemed University of Southern California in Los Angeles (USC). Here, she was part of an exclusive grant program designed to equip occupational therapy students with specialized knowledge in school-based practices, an initiative backed by the Department of Education. Her professional journey has seen her serve in school districts across Washington State, Los Angeles, and Orange County, where she offered her expertise to a diverse age group, from preschoolers to young adults.
Currently, Jacqueline is a sought-after figure for district and community training sessions, where she delves into topics like motor development, sensory processing, and assistive technology. While a significant portion of her career was dedicated to early intervention, she now finds immense satisfaction in preparing young adults for post-school work environments. At the heart of her practice lies a steadfast belief: meaningful occupations are pivotal in fostering health and resilience.
Outside her professional realm, Jacqueline’s compassion extends to the well-being of animals. She has opened her home to two rescues: a physically challenged cat and a senior terrier dog. In her moments of respite, she finds joy in caring for animals in need.
