Jamie has a passion for helping children develop their sense of identity through increased self-awareness, social awareness, and self-regulation. She steadfastly believes that children thrive in environments in which they know themselves well and in which their voices are heard. Jamie has worked in the field of Educational Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis for 15 years. Jamie began her experience working with children and families navigating various therapies for autism spectrum disorder and transitioned to working as a full-time School Psychologist in 2012.
Jamie has extensive experience in behavior support, educationally-based counseling, and supporting students to develop their executive functioning skills. Jamie is accomplished at assessments in all areas including dyslexia and other learning disabilities, as well as developmental social disorders such as Autism and ADHD. Jamie takes every opportunity to attend conferences and trainings on cutting-edge research related to behavioral mental health and educational support.
Jamie is certified in Mental Health First Aid and is informed on effective, research-based social, and emotional supports in the school setting including trauma-informed and resilient school practices, restorative justice practices, Boys Town classroom management, Facilitated IEP practices, and suicide risk, threat assessment, and effective school-based crisis response.
Jamie is experienced at educational and behavioral counseling utilizing a combination of strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis to help support the social, emotional, and behavioral progress of students with educational disabilities. As part of her continuing education, Jamie is currently attending a certification program to become an Executive Skills Coach.
