Cognitive Diagnostic Associates' Expansion Committee looks to attract talented individuals who will add depth to the practices and expand the geography.
Cognitive Diagnostic Associates is actively seeking a licensed Medical Doctor (MD) with experience in pediatric, family medicine, or developmental healthcare to join our interdisciplinary team. This role involves conducting school-related medical evaluations as part of Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) to determine how medical diagnoses may impact a student’s ability to access and benefit from their educational program.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and adolescents and possess a strong understanding of how chronic health conditions, physical limitations, neurological diagnoses, or medication management issues may intersect with educational performance. Your evaluations will support IEP and 504 team decisions by providing comprehensive, clear, and school-relevant medical documentation.
Candidates should be confident in reviewing records, writing detailed reports, and offering recommendations related to educational impact, accommodations, and school-based supports. While direct treatment is not part of this role, your assessments will help ensure students with medical needs are properly identified and supported within the school system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct medical evaluations and assessments related to educational access
- Review prior health records and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members
- Produce high-quality, legally defensible reports for IEP and 504 Plan development
- Identify how medical conditions may interfere with school functioning (e.g., attendance, fatigue, focus, mobility)
- Recommend classroom accommodations, modifications, or health-related services when appropriate
- Serve as a consulting expert on cases involving complex medical histories
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- An active MD license in the state of practice (multi-state licensure preferred)
- Experience with pediatric or adolescent populations in clinical or educational settings
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to translate medical findings into actionable educational recommendations
- Familiarity with the IEP and 504 Plan process, or willingness to learn
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to child-centered, holistic evaluation
