Meet Chelsea Swopes, a licensed and nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist at Cognitive Diagnostic Associates. With over 15 years of experience, Chelsea is passionate about helping children and their families navigate the complexities of communication and learning. Chelsea’s journey into speech-language pathology was inspired by her fascination with how the brain and language develop and her love of working with children. She earned her B.A. in Communicative Disorders from California State University, Fullerton and her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Redlands.

Throughout her career, Chelsea has developed extensive expertise in conducting assessments and guiding families through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process. Having completed thousands of evaluations, she excels at assessing a child’s needs holistically to ensure appropriate and individualized support. Her experience spans working with children of all ages and abilities, including those with cleft palate and craniofacial differences, autism, receptive and expressive language disorders, speech sound disorders and other complex needs. Chelsea’s approach is rooted in evidence-based practices and collaboration, fostering strong connections between families, educators, and other professionals.

Chelsea believes connection is the foundation of communication. Her mission is to empower families with the tools and confidence they need to advocate for their children while feeling supported and heard every step of the way. Outside of work, Chelsea enjoys spending time with her two school-aged children, attending concerts, and staying active on her Peloton. Her husband, a physical therapist, shares her passion for helping others, making their shared commitment to supporting families a cornerstone of their lives.
