Cognitive Diagnostic Associates at the CASP Annual Board Meeting

We are excited to share that Cognitive Diagnostic Associates had the privilege of sending two of our esteemed practitioners, Ashley Schwenn and Jennifer Strong, to the annual board meeting for the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP). The event took place on June 21st and 22nd at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego. As representatives for regions 5 and 9 respectively, Ashley and Jennifer were actively involved in the discussions and activities throughout the weekend. The meeting was a hub of innovative ideas and strategies aimed at steering our state organization in a positive direction.

Ashley Schwenn particularly stood out with her insightful contributions and great ideas (See highlight photo). Her presentations and participation sparked engaging discussions and provided valuable perspectives that will help shape future initiatives for CASP. A highlight of the event was the team-building activities, including a thrilling scavenger hunt. It was a great opportunity for everyone to bond and work together in a fun and engaging way. We are proud to announce that Chris Jones’s team, our new incoming president, won the scavenger hunt! This victory was a testament to the collaborative spirit and strategic thinking that Chris brings to the table.

We are delighted to welcome Chris Jones as our new president. His leadership marks a refreshing and positive step for our organization. Chris brings a wealth of knowledge in various areas, including Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP) licensing and advocacy work. Under his leadership, we are confident that CASP will achieve magnificent things and continue to make a significant impact in the field of school psychology. We also want to recognize our interim executive director, Dr. Kristin Makena, who has done a wonderful job representing our organization positively. Dr. Makena is now handing over the reins to our new interim executive director, Greg Wilson. Let’s give Greg Wilson a big round of applause as he takes the lead and guides our organization forward. Additionally, we want to acknowledge over 10 years of dedicated service from Kathy Little. Kathy has played an integral role within our organization, and her outstanding service has been invaluable to us.

We are proud of the contributions made in representing Cognitive Diagnostic Associates with dedication and professionalism. Our involvement in the meeting underscores our ongoing commitment to staying at the forefront of developments in school psychology, advocating for best practices, and upholding the highest ethical standards in our field. We look forward to the exciting advancements and initiatives that will emerge from this productive meeting and are eager to see the positive impact these changes will have on our organization and the broader community we serve.

Stay tuned for more updates and insights from Cognitive Diagnostic Associates as we continue to lead and innovate in the field of school psychology.
