David, an esteemed member of the Cognitive Diagnostic Associates team, brings a wealth of educational expertise to our organization. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education K-12 from the prestigious University of Georgia, College of Education. Furthermore, he distinguished himself by graduating with honors and earning a Master’s degree in Special Education from the esteemed University of North Dakota. His journey as part of our team has been marked by a commitment to our mission of delivering high-quality assessments.
During his academic journey, David cultivated substantial expertise in the art of delivering intensive instruction rooted in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. His proficiency in tailoring instruction to meet the diverse educational needs of students has set him apart.
In addition to his impressive educational qualifications, David possesses a certification in Adapted Physical Education (APE) from the respected Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California. His APE graduate program was meticulously focused on fine-tuning physical education to the unique requirements of students in need of specialized instruction. Recognizing the profound importance of culturally responsive teaching, David has also achieved an English Learner authorization credential from the University of Phoenix. This credential underscores his steadfast commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable educational practices.
Since 2016, David has been on a continuous journey of expanding his experience in the field of Adapted Physical Education. His dedication is evident in his effective teaching to students ranging in age from five to twenty-two, each presenting a unique spectrum of cognitive and physical abilities. His versatile skill set encompasses providing direct in-person and remote instruction, as well as offering consultation services. David has been a pivotal figure in IEP meetings, actively contributing to the development of present levels of performance, goals, objectives, and the determination of eligibility for A.P.E. services. David’s unwavering commitment is evident in his dedication to crafting instruction that aligns with the latest evidence-based practices, always tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
In his personal life, David is happily married to his wife, Celia, and they own a rescue dog named Thor. Their family is eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child in December 2023. David’s passion for staying active shines through his love for outdoor activities, such as hiking and biking. His career in Adapted Physical Education was sparked by his early experiences working at summer camps, where he discovered his calling in providing individualized instruction. This experience set the stage for his rewarding journey in the field.
